CIP Cleaning System (Clean-In-Place System)

CIP cleaning system, also known as clean-in-place system or cleaning in place system, is used for cleaning of internal surfaces of pipes, vessels, processing equipment, filters and associated fittings, without disassembling them.

Until 1950s, inner system was disassembled and cleaned manually. CIP system emerges as a gift to the industries that need frequent internal cleaning of their processing equipment. The industries that rely heavily on the CIP cleaning system are those have requirement for high levels of hygiene, including dairy, beverage, brewing, food processing, pharmaceutics and cosmetics.

The advantages of CIP cleaning system are fast cleaning, labor saving and repeatable, and poses less of a risk of chemical exposure to people. CIP cleaning system started as a manual method of cleaning including a balance tank, centrifugal pumps, and connection to the system being cleaned. Since the 1950s, CIP cleaning system has evolved to include full-automatic systems with programmable logic controllers, multiple balance tanks, sensors, valves, heat exchangers, data acquisition and specially designed spray nozzle systems. However, simple and manually operated CIP cleaning systems can still be found in use today.

CIP cleaning system is the special equipment used for automatic cleaning of beverage production line and beverage filling equipment. There are three procedures in the cleaning system, i.e. acid cleaning, alkali cleaning and thermal cleaning, which set the concentration of acid solution, the alkali concentration and temperature of hot water respectively.

The CIP cleaning system is used for the cleaning of sugar melting system, juice blending system, homogeneous system and degassing system. The UHT sterilization system comes with the CIP cleaning unit.
The CIP cleaning system is with full automatic control. With the automatic confirmation of the cleaning channel, human-computer interface control system and switchover of the pneumatic disc valve by PLC, the CIP cleaning system is able to achieve independent cleaning of single equipment. Besides, customers' requirement for synchronous operation of production and CIP cleaning of the production line can be met.
All the technological parameters of cleaning including washing time, PH value, cleaning temperature and cleaning sequence can be preset as some serial numbers on the touch screen. When cleaning is required, you just need to identify the equipment, choose the serial numbers for cleaning and start the cleaning system. The CIP equipment will then automatically do the cleaning in proper sequence according to the preset procedure, and conduct sectional retrieving of the acid, alkali and water.
The CIP cleaning system has the functions of automatic watering, automatic acid-alkali filling, automatic temperature regulation, displaying temperature, density and liquid level, simulating processing state, and audible and visual alarming. Besides, it can work both automatically and manually, with various parameters modifiable on the touch panel. Both manual operation and parameter modification have password protection.
